Awakening Service as a Facilitator

I once attended a seminar in Boulder with noted author, psychiatrist, and professor, Roger Walsh on Awakening Service (Karma Yoga) and Ethics. I particularly enjoyed a simple eight-step process one can use to approach life in a more awakened fashion. It occurs to me that this practice would be ideal for facilitators preparing to approach their work with groups. So I summarized it in this week’s article, Awakening Service as a Facilitator. I hope you find this perspective useful, and as always, I look forward to your feedback.  Click here to read the entire article.

  1. Thank you for the reminders. I will keep the nine steps accessible so that I remember to take a moment
to focus and be mindful of what I am doing and why. Like most of the busy world, I sometimes get so caught up in action and doing and making things happen that I forget these simple steps.

I am very grateful for your inspiration and the gifts you bring to the world. THANK YOU!!

  2. Ditto to Patricia’s comments. This could not have come at a more propitious time as I go into several weeks of heavy facilitation. Sometimes it is so very easy to get caught up in the prep and the relationships pre-meeting and to wonder if the outcomes will “be there,” that I forget that, in the meeting, I am enough. I have appreciated your newsletter for a long time. Keep it up!
